Moray Food Poverty Report & Action Plan

In order to try and address the rising issue of food poverty in Moray the Fairer Moray Forum secured funding from Food Power to develop a food poverty action plan. The Forum felt that it was important to consult with people who were either currently experiencing food insecurity, or who had experienced food insecurity in the past and in-depth consultation was carried out.

The food poverty action plan has now been published and it is hoped the actions will be adopted by organisations and professionals across Moray.

Moray Poverty Action & Strategy Plan

A Poverty Strategy was developed by the Fairer Moray Forum on behalf of the Moray Community Planning Partnership and an accompanying action plan was written incorporating the Child Poverty Report. Information has been collated from partners across the community for the development of both documents. Collating this information and using three poverty drivers, eight strategic outcomes with twenty-six discrete actions have been developed. This strategy and action plan has now been approved by the Moray Community Planning Partnership and submitted to the Scottish Government; reporting will be carried out on a yearly basis and progress monitored.
